Opportunity classes are Year 5 and 6 classes in some NSW public primary schools for academically gifted students. Students sit the Opportunity Class Placement Test in Year 4. It has three parts: reading, mathematical reasoning and thinking skills.
Students in Years 3 and 4 who enjoy a challenge and are aiming for an opportunity class. Preparation suits young learners best when it is steady and engaging, never pressured.
